President & CEO

Dr. Samuel J. Gutman, MD CCFP, FCFP, EM-SEM

Dr. Gutman is the President and Founder of Rockdoc Consulting Inc., an attending ER Physician in the Emergency Department at Lion’s Gate Hospital, and a Clinical Associate Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia. He also is a Sports and Exercise Medicine Physician with an interest in concussions, endurance and combat sports.

Dr. Gutman graduated with honors from the University of Western Ontario School of Medicine in 1991. He interned at St. Paul’s hospital and worked parts of 10 years in St. Paul’s ER and ICU and has nearly 25 years of experience as a primary care and ER doctor working in major trauma and referral hospitals in BC. He was the founding Director of the Performance Health Program at the Fortius Institute for Sport and Health, as well as the Medical Director of Ironman Canada and is the Medical Director of several other marathons and races.

Dr. Gutman’s business and consulting experience includes successfully designing, implementing and operating a range of healthcare related businesses including personalized primary care and assessment programs for performers, corporate executives and elite athletes. Dr. Gutman is the most experienced Medical Director for Mass Gatherings in Canada. He has designed and operated the medical and emergency programs for numerous music festivals and large-scale mass gatherings. He provides medical direction for oil and gas projects and remote medical camps, as well as a large maximum security urban Police Jail. Dr. Gutman also spent two years as a Venture Partner with RecapHealth Ventures, a health venture capital firm in Vancouver.

He is a frequent expert contributor to various media outlets and governments on a variety of topics including; substance abuse, adolescent and young adult risk behavior, harm reduction, and mass gathering medicine as well as extreme and combat sports. He was the co-founder of the UBC Mass Gathering Medicine Research Institute, a global leader in mass gathering medicine research and has published scholarly papers and book chapters on a number of topics.

COO

Amar Leekha, BBA, MBA

With a background in private equity and corporate development, Amar works closely with the shareholder group and board of directors of the Rockdoc Group of Companies on corporate strategy, legal matters, and general business operations.

Amar brings over 15 years of corporate finance, strategy and operations experience to the Rockdoc Group of Companies. He was previously the co-founder and Senior Vice President of a publicly traded private equity fund, Founders Advantage Capital. In this role, he focused on acquisitions, corporate development, finance, and the overall growth strategy. Prior to that role, he worked in investment banking with Scotiabank where he advised various public and private Canadian companies on strategic M&A transactions and financings. Amar also spent several years in Commercial Banking, Corporate Banking and Corporate Credit with both Royal Bank of Canada and ATB Financial.Amar sits on various boards of directors, including West Coast Kids Cancer Foundation, which provides support to families experiencing childhood cancer or blood disorders in British Columbia (www.wckfoundation.ca).

Amar Holds an MBA from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree (Finance & International Business) from Simon Fraser University.

VP Operations

Kaitlyn Burke, BSC, BJ

With a business administration and marketing background, Kaitlyn is responsible for the overall management and business operations across Rockdoc’s consulting, COVID-19 testing and services and events; she also leads and oversees our marketing department.

Kaitlyn is a dynamic achiever with prior experience as an account executive at Jacht Advertising and was the Public Relations Director for the Shriners Society of Nebraska. She spent two years as a marketing and communications consultant with RecapHealth Ventures, a health venture capital firm in Vancouver. Additionally, Kaitlyn founded New Heights Basketball Academy, which focuses on empowering and mentoring girls and young women through sports.

A decorated former US College student-athlete and Canadian National team athlete, Kaitlyn graduated from The University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor of Journalism in Advertising and Public Relations and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. During her time at Nebraska, she played varsity basketball and won numerous accolades including Academic All Big Ten, Big Ten Sportsmanship Award, and was a Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award Candidate. Kaitlyn has been with Rockdoc since 2012.

Andrew Durham, BSC, PCP-IV

With a clinical management and events background, Andrew is responsible for overseeing our COVID-19 film and tv and testing services and is also responsible for the overall success of our events division and teams.

Andrew brings eight years of experience in event operations as well as seven years of experience in primary care healthcare to the medical operations team. He has experience in management with many of the major events in the Lower Mainland in both logistical and medical capacities, including The Vancouver Sun Run, Pemberton Music Festival and Lululemon Seawheeze Half Marathon. His experience and understanding of overall event operations allows him to seamlessly integrate and collaborate effectively with all stakeholders. His clinical training allows him to provide on-the-ground leadership to the medical team in addition to strong logistical support and coordination.

Andrew graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences and Minor in Psychology. While completing his undergraduate degree he also trained as a Primary Care Paramedic with the Justice Institute of British Columbia. He currently manages two highly busy primary care medical clinics in Vancouver and Victoria and provides consulting and development services for medical offices in the Lower Mainland. In his free time, Andrew is an avid musician and enjoys volunteering with community events as well as Easter Seals.

Director of Strategic Planning

Belinda Gutman, RN, MSN

With a Nursing and financial background, Belinda is responsible for the management and oversight of financials for Rockdoc as well as the clinical oversight of all nursing personnel at Rockdoc.

Belinda possesses years of experience as a bedside nurse at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver in HIV care, Acute Medicine and the Emergency Room, BC Children’s Hospital ER, and in the private sector. She has also worked as a Street Nurse on the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver and had extensive exposure to social issues, substance abuse, and violence prevalent in this community. Belinda later moved to an educator role as a Nursing Instructor at BCIT and Vancouver Community College. Belinda has her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from BCIT, and a Masters of Science in Nursing at UBC.

Belinda’s passion for helping people goes beyond her career. She has held positions on the Board of Directors at the Vancouver Holocaust Education Center, and Vancouver Talmud Torah School. Belinda was born and raised in New Zealand before moving to Vancouver and is an avid runner. Belinda has been with Rockdoc since its inception in 2008.

Director of Clinical Services

Kristyna Sorensen

Kristyna Sorensen is a Registered Nurse with a specialty in Emergency Nursing. Kristyna is certified in both ACLS and EPIC Trauma. She works full time as a Head Nurse at Vancouver General Hospital, concurrently with her job as Director of Clinical Services with Rockdoc. Kristyna has worked with Rockdoc for over 10 years, her vast experience in emergency nursing allows her a very hands-on approach. Kristyna helped develop the travel medicine program for Rockdoc from a nursing perspective. A portion of Kristyna’s role as Director of Clinical Services is to help with the creation of standard operating policies and procedures to help ensure the execution of high-quality services.
